Following Her Instinct
Maria tried looking for the noise and her search led her to some kind of ditch which was covered in dirt and leaves. There was nothing special about the ditch, so she was quite confused as to how the sound seemed to be coming from there. Taking a deep breath, she crouched down and looked into a hole. What she saw left her feeling terrible. What caused such a reaction from her?

Maria could see that there was a dog trapped deep in the hole. It was whimpering and crying out to be rescued. Her heart broke looking at the poor pup that was trapped and confused. She knew she needed to act fast. Time was running out. The dog needed her help to get out of there. Maria loved dogs and she could not bear simply leaving this one and not helping it out.
