Getting Away From The Smell
By then, the smell had turned into a taste. It was getting harder for Maria not to throw up. She felt the pizza that she had had for lunch rising in her stomach. Needing to get away, she led her dog and they tried to skirt around the circumference of the smell. She had no interest in finding out what was causing the scent. She simply wanted to breathe in ordinary air again.

The smell got lighter and lighter until she could not smell it anymore. She opened her water bottle and had a drink. She found a stick and thought of throwing it for her dog. After she threw the stick, her dog zoomed down the path in search for the stick. She smiled as they went off the path and excitedly looked for it. She then noticed that something was down the path.
