The animal on top of the iceberg was so afraid and shaking violently because of the cold. They wanted to make sure that the animal didn’t freeze to death. They needed to reach it fast.

They can now finally see that the shaking animal was actually an arctic fox. They didn’t have the luxury of time to investigate how it got there because it was already cold and weak already. Birds were even circling above it if they don’t hurry they might devour the animal.
