Jack and Laura originally believed in forever. They thought their marriage would last till death do them part, however coming from opposite places in life, it was evident that this would lead to their downfall.

Laura’s family is rich and wealthy but she worked hard to earn a degree in college. Jack, on the other hand, worked as a part-time bartender but he didn’t have any ambition as to where he is going in life. This is one of the reasons why Laura’s parents were not in favor of her marrying Jack.
