While finding old photographs hidden away in houses is creepy in itself, finding one that asks the finder if they see “him” is a whole other level of terrifying. Not to mention a very valid reason for selling the place and moving far, far, away.

Here we have a rather spectacular find. One family discovered a famous Norman Rockwell painting hidden behind a fake wall in their late father’s house in Vermont. The deceased father had kept a fake on display in the house to keep his wife from getting the original in their divorce. Even on his deathbed, he never mentioned a thing. The painting wound up selling in auction for $15.4 million.

Another similar story happened in New York. A man recalled he had a $300 million Michelangelo painting behind his couch, having forgotten that it’s been sitting there for 27 years.
