A feminist at heart, Harriet truly believed that all women should be free to choose what they wanted to wear. What she happened to be wearing was in no way an invitation for any unwanted attention or catcalls. In any case, why were men always allowed to wear whatever they wanted? Her clothing shouldn’t have the power to cause as much chaos as it did. What was it that it caused?
