She didn’t decide to leave Arrow lightly. She asked to be written off the show before her contract was up. Producers chose to wait until her contract expired before giving her an ending, whereas she played Felicity Smoak on the show. She felt bad leaving as people had fallen in love with the character, and seven seasons was more than enough. She wanted to move on and pursue other acting ventures.

Elliott Stabler, being played by Meloni, was abruptly written off when his character met a sudden and grisly demise. It is all because of the simple contract negotiations that failed to conclude. He began negotiating for a higher salary at the beginning of season twelve, but the network wasn’t willing to meet him where he wanted. Good Housekeeping announced in April 2020 that he was going to make a comeback on SVU.
