Another departure was that of Chambers, who was on the show for fifteen years. His exit came in early 2020. Chambers said that there was no good time to leave and also he felt that Grey’s Anatomy had defined his life for the better part of two decades. Chambers left because he wanted to diversify his acting role. I also wanted new parts that didn’t revolve around medical drama. Fans were sad about his leaving.

Fans were devastated when Michael Scott who was played by Carrell, left the show, leaving a huge void that led to declining ratings and the show’s cancelation after season nine. Carrell left the show in season seven,  it was thought that he left so he could focus on his film career, but the main reason was his contract was up with NBC, who refuse to renew his contract because he wanted a raise.
