One Final Question
Nodding her head, Meredith said that Rose was correct about the artist’s history. Then, the appraiser agreed that it was possible the painting was authentic, considering the whereabouts of Rose’s grandmother at the time. However, there was still one more question that she had to ask Rose. The answer actually left the audience reeling. Meredith asked gently, “Have you had it appraised before? Do you know if she had it appraised?” Even though Rose thought carefully prior to replying, what she said was quite scandalous.
