All the Swans on the River Thames

Owned Since: 15th Century
Valued At: $130,000*

The Queen was born in 1926, but in the 15th century, her right to own all the swans dates back. Her Majesty actually owns all of the “unclaimed mute swans” on any water throughout England and Wales. Considering the cost of a swan is about $300, this little nest egg is worth about $130,000. This was one of the most impressive collections of the Royals, as swans back then were a delicacy. Now, this is not the case anymore. To guarantee their numbers are still strong, the Queen conducts an annual swan count.
