It’s Her Time

The young mom had a work interview scheduled for this day, and she had to be in a top-notch form more than ever. Chy-Niece wanted to convince her interviewer, of course, that she deserved to be part of the company. That meant slipping into her best casual outfit, making her makeup carefully, and knowing the finer aspects of the job she was interviewing for.

Putting A Lot Of People In Danger

Chy-Niece got into her vehicle and pulled her out of the road. At that time, she did not know that there were cops following her until she stopped at stop signs on red lights. To her astonishment, she braked and made turns putting a lot of people in danger. She didn’t know she had a broken brake light that if suddenly stopped, she’ll get smashed from behind. She thought they’re working fine.

Something’s Fishy

Only about a month before the day of her job interview, Chy-Niece had her car checked into the local Firestone, where she needed her lights to work. They tried to charge her an amazing $600 cable test. She refused the offer and asked to get back her car then went her way out. Fast forward one month, and while Chy-Niece was on her way to that job interview, suddenly she saw something alarming in her rearview mirror.

The Cops Were Approaching

Good vibes and confidence of Chy-Niece were at great risk of being washed away when she saw blue and red lights flashing in her rearview mirror. This hopeful morning of Virginia now turned for Chy-Niece ‘s worst. If she didn’t correctly play her cards, she knew she couldn’t do that job interview at all. She pulled on the side. The cop slowly approached the car and Chy-Niece reached her glove compartment quickly.

Late In Her Interview

Late in an interview is definitely a sign of what can be expected of a potential offer, and a tendency to be late definitely was not part of her personality. The mood of Chy-Niece took a nosedive instantly. Chy-Niece did not want to waste time arguing with the police officer in hurry to her work interview. She opened her glove compartment immediately and secured her license. The cop didn’t want her gun, though. Chy-Niece was stunned by the officer’s actions.

Not Your Usual Cop

If you have a broken brake light, nine out of ten cops will surely get your license and registration then write a huge amount of tickets. If you’re unfortunate, you might get a fix-it ticket. Of course, we may feel that all police would do the same thing, but these cops did something else. They just told her that she has two broken headlights which made a huge shock on here as it was utterly unexpected.

No Ticket Is Due

Chy-Niece started telling the police officer her story of being overcharged by Firestone and recently fixed the lights. Officer Jenkins raised his eyebrow and asked her to pop her trunk. We can only picture her fear when he asked the question. She didn’t want to end up in the news and had nothing to hide, so she kept calm and opened the police officer’s trunk. When he began to circle the vehicle, she probably wondered if she would ever do the job interview. Chy-Niece got out of the vehicle and watched her trunk at the cop tinker. There was definitely nothing he was doing out of the job manual of a police officer.

An Exceptional Discovery

The police officer went into full mechanical mode out of nowhere and began to tinker with her brake lights. He made them look good and even tapped them a couple of times. Sadly, the lights haven’t activated. The officer pulled himself out of the glove compartment and then asked Chy-Niece to pop the hood. Then he went on to check the relay box, and the car was too old and wrinkly. During an interview with FOX, Chy-Niece looked all along in disbelief with “He could’ve easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of the official role and into the mechanic role to make sure I was straight.”

At Her Advantage

With regard to the broken brake lights, nothing far beyond the touching response of the officer has been reported. If Officer Jenkins finally succeeded in fixing the brake lights, it is certainly still not told, but it is certain that Chy-Niece could make things right again in her car. In 2017, Chy-Niece started working as a correctional program support person at the University of Phoenix. Though things may have looked gloomy earlier that morning, it was all thanks to the cop that made her day unbelievably memorable. She would surely pay tribute to them when the time comes.

On Facebook, the police station replied: “Thank you Chy-Niece Thacker for sharing this about one of our officers. We are so proud of our officers, especially when we see citizens share things like this. Above and beyond the call of duty, Officer Jenkins. Service to our community is what it’s all about.” This would eventually take your gentle story towards the next level.

It Went Viral

Headlines featuring police officers have usually a much darker story behind them these days. But this act of kindness brought Officer Jenkins out like a rough diamond. The Internet ran through the story and soon it turned into a media hit. Even major news networks such as FOX and NBC had this simple story of generosity. One commenter said, “Yes, there are some good ones out there. I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago for my tail lights being out and he helped me figure it out. It turned out that it had a fuse blown. He told me to drive the rest of the way home with my hazard lights on!” Nevertheless, some did not lose the context.

Not All Cops Are Bad

Officer Jenkins ‘ example of being a good Samaritan and thinking outside the box is just one story that illustrates the fact that there are indeed a ton of incredible police and women out there. You don’t really want to give tickets or throw yourself behind bars, but rather to help and protect your community. One comment about the post from Chy-Niece said the following, “Actually He gives all officers a good name…we have him but there are thousands more like him. The bad ones with attitudes overshadow the truly Professional officers like him. I do think Henrico has the best officers though.” Officer Jenkins ‘ compassion shone a light on possibilities that people have never fully taken into consideration.

Respect And Admiration

Many people saw how good the world can be if people change their approach to each other. One comment summed it up neatly when it said, “I love a good cop cause I remember how nice it was to see them in the neighborhood and the feeling of being safe and you could talk to them! If all the good cops would oust all the bad cops, then the police would again have our respect and admiration.” Another comment expressed something similar when it said, “Good job, officer Jenkins! You are a great representative of the law enforcement community, and the Lord is pleased with your righteous act of service. God bless you, sir, and may God protect you and your family.” Since the interaction took several years ago, many wonder where Chy-Niece is today.
