Alan Alda played the lead role in the show. At first, he only brought home $10,000 or so per episode for playing Hawkeye. By the end of it, this figure grew to around $235,000. He does not make as much as other famous sitcom actors do, only raking in as much as a million in royalties per year. At any rate, he is still a rich man thanks to his successful career. He has also made money from the spin-offs and specials. The show had a spinoff called AfterMASH, which had two seasons, but Trapper John was the more successful spinoff. There were also movies and documentaries throughout the ‘80s.
