It was not unusual for a dog to sniff the ground occasionally during walks. Kyle often noticed all kinds of wildlife when they were walking. He also saw someone’s old clothes once. If anything could be hidden from this secret path, Kyle would check it out and find it.

He explained exactly what Kyle had found, with his voice trembling, in that old oak. They had stopped John from making the call because what they had discovered indicated that this case would not require further investigation. They already had everything they wanted.

They saw a life-size human skeleton, but it was also a fake one. Someone must have planted it as a Halloween scare or joke inside the tree bark and forgot about it. They laugh in relief, but they can’t understand why Kyle would warn them in a situation like this.
